Disc mowers require a tractor with 3ph hitch, catagoriy 2 AFIK, and remote hydraulics. At the present I have a Vermeer 9 ft. mower. Book says a 70 hp tractor is needed, 60hp for a 7 ft. 11 inch mower.I would want a minimum of 160 hp and mfwd on a 24' disk. That puts you into a 4650 or 5288, a heavily weighted 4640/4840 or 1486/1586 might do an acceptable job but they will run out of traction easily at slow speeds.Get yourself a 4450 mfwd or 4455 or 7800 or 7810 these all have 540/1000. Go to a 8100-8400 & ask for & get a 3 pto package-they are around 540/small 1000/big 1000. But note: the 540/small 1000 is good only for about 120 hp on the 8100 tractor & on up but the big 1000 is for the rated hp on the tractor..
